How stereo repair works
What it does
Every stereo signal can be split into a mid part (what both channels share) and a side part (the difference between them). The tool keeps the mid part as it is and turns the side part down. The result is a narrower stereo image with the centre unchanged.
Too much side signal is a common problem in AI-generated songs and heavy stereo wideners. It can sound vague on headphones and lose parts when played on a mono speaker or phone.
Settings
- Width reduction: 0 to 100 percent. At 50 percent the side signal is halved. At 100 percent the side signal is removed and both channels become identical, which is a mono fold-down saved as a two-channel file.
Files and output
- Mono or stereo files up to 200 MB. Files with more than two channels are refused.
- Audio is decoded at 48 kHz on your device, so about 11 minutes of mono or 5.5 minutes of stereo fit in the memory limit.
- The result is a 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz with the same number of channels. If the processed audio would go over full scale, the whole file is turned down by a fixed amount, and that amount is shown.
Good to know
- Mono files pass through unchanged, since there is no side signal to reduce.
- The same amount is applied across all frequencies. It does not narrow only the bass.
- Sounds that cancel when summed to mono are already lost in the mid signal, so narrowing cannot bring them back.

What are the limits?

Does it master my song?
No. This is a focused repair step, not loudness mastering. Only output that would clip is attenuated, and that amount is shown.
Will it make my song mono?
Only at 100 percent. Lower settings keep some stereo width. Start around 20 to 40 percent and compare with the original.
Why does my vocal sound the same after processing?
A centred vocal is part of the mid signal, which the tool does not change. Only the difference between the channels is reduced.
