Free Reference Mastering AI
Make your songs sound as good as your favorite artists.
Upload your track and a commercial reference, the engine matches its full frequency curve, stereo width, and loudness in seconds. Free, no signup, and both files stay on your device.
How it works
- 1Upload your song
The track you want to polish.
- 2Add a reference
A commercial song you love the sound of.
- 3Download your master
Matched in tone & loudness, streaming-ready.
What actually happens when you hit Master
This tool uses the same approach as the open source Matchering project, the engine behind most paid reference-mastering services. The difference is that everything here runs in your browser. The process has four measurable steps, and none of them involve guessing.
- 1. Spectrum analysis. The tool scans both songs and builds an average frequency fingerprint of each: how much bass, how much low-mid warmth, how much treble air, across the whole track.
- 2. Match EQ. It divides the reference's fingerprint by your song's fingerprint. The result is a custom EQ curve that pushes your track toward the reference's tone. The correction is capped at 10 dB per band so the match never turns into a caricature of your song.
- 3. Stereo width match. It measures how wide the reference feels (the balance between the center and the sides of the stereo image) and gently pulls your track toward that width, with a safety clamp so your song still plays correctly in mono on phone speakers.
- 4. Loudness match and limiting. Finally it masters your track to the reference's measured loudness (integrated LUFS) with a look-ahead true-peak limiter, so it stands level with the commercial track on any streaming platform without clipping.
How to pick a reference that works
The match is only as good as the reference. Pick a commercial song in the same genre as yours, with a similar arrangement: if your track is a sparse piano ballad, a wall-of-sound EDM anthem will drag its tone somewhere unnatural. Vocals matter too. A vocal-heavy reference teaches the engine to make room in the midrange, which is exactly what most Suno and Udio tracks need. And use the highest quality version of the reference you can. A heavily compressed low-bitrate rip carries codec artifacts into the frequency fingerprint.
Frequently asked questions
Is this reference mastering really free?
Yes. No account, no watermark, no weekly limit. Upload nothing to a server, the matching runs in your browser, and download a clean WAV master every time.
How does it match my song to the reference?
It uses the same technique as the open-source Matchering project: it measures the reference's full frequency spectrum, builds a matching EQ curve (applied as a zero-phase filter), matches the stereo width, and masters your track to the reference's loudness with a true-peak limiter.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Both your song and the reference are processed entirely on your device with Web Audio. Unlike server-based tools that hold your files for hours, we never receive your audio at all.
What makes a good reference track?
Pick a commercial song in the same genre with the sound you're chasing, similar instrumentation and energy. The engine matches tone, width, and loudness, so the closer the reference's arrangement is to yours, the more natural the result.
What formats work, and what do I get back?
Upload WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, or AIFF for both files. You download a 16-bit WAV master matched to the reference's tonal balance and loudness, ready for streaming upload.
