How to make a lyric video, step by step
- Upload the song. Use the final mastered file, so the video has the same sound as the release.
- Add the lyrics. Paste them one line per row. Section tags such as [Verse] and [Chorus] are ignored, so a Suno lyric sheet can go in as it is. No lyrics? Search by artist and title, upload an .lrc file, or try AI transcription (slower, runs in your browser).
- Sync the lines. Auto-align finds where the vocal is, skips the intro and spreads the lines across it in under a second. For exact timing, use Tap to sync: play the song and tap as each line starts.
- Pick a template. 24 templates cover hip-hop, trap, drill, pop, R&B, gospel, Afrobeats, country, rock, lo-fi and more. Each sets a background, a text look and a colour you can change.
- Choose the format. 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube, 1:1 for an Instagram post.

Tips for a clean result
- Keep lines short: about 4 to 8 words. Long lines shrink the text and are hard to read on a phone.
- Put each sung phrase on its own line. The timing follows lines, so one line per phrase keeps words on screen while they are sung.
- Use the bottom position or the Subtitle look when the background is busy, so the words stay readable.
- For TikTok and Reels, keep the words away from the very top and bottom, where the app puts its buttons and captions.
- Watch the whole preview once before export. Fix any line that comes in early or late.
