How the click remover works
What it does
The tool looks at every sample and compares it with the average of the sample before and after it. A sample is treated as a click only when all three of these are true: it jumps far from that average, the jump is more than six times the level of its neighbours, and the two neighbours are close to each other. That last check stops it from touching real fast movement in the waveform.
Each sample that passes is replaced by the average of its two neighbours. Everything else is left exactly as it was. After processing you see how many samples were replaced.
Settings
- Sensitivity: 0 to 100 percent. Higher values lower the size a spike needs before it counts as a click, so more samples are replaced. At 0 percent nothing is changed.
Files and output
- Mono or stereo files up to 200 MB. Files with more than two channels are refused.
- Audio is decoded at 48 kHz on your device, so about 11 minutes of mono or 5.5 minutes of stereo fit in the memory limit.
- The result is a 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz with the same number of channels. If the processed audio would go over full scale, the whole file is turned down by a fixed amount, and that amount is shown.
Good to know
- It repairs single-sample spikes, such as digital glitches from a bad edit or a dropped buffer.
- Vinyl crackle, clicks that last several samples, and clipped peaks are not repaired.
- Start low and raise sensitivity only while the count of replaced samples stays small. Listen to drum hits in the processed version.

Does it master my song?
No. This is a focused repair step, not loudness mastering. Only output that would clip is attenuated, and that amount is shown.
Why does the count say 0 samples were replaced?
None of the spikes met all three checks. The click may last more than one sample, or sensitivity may be too low. Raise sensitivity and process again.
Can it fix vinyl crackle?
No. Crackle is made of many longer clicks and noise. This tool only replaces isolated one-sample spikes.
